UK’s Cyber security Talent Shortage: A Ticking Timebomb
A new report titled ‘Cybersecurity: Building Business Resilience’ by global recruiter Robert Walters and data provider Vacancysoft, has highlighted that within the UK specifically, 48% of medium to large businesses did not have adequate cybersecurity provision for home working.
Additionally, 58% of technology hiring managers listed cybersecurity as their most sought after skill in the current climate, however only 10% of the technology candidate pool possessed the right level of cybersecurity skills and know-how to help plug the gap. This disparity highlights that with the rapid pace of digital transformation bought on by the Covid-19 pandemic; cybersecurity is becoming an ever-greater part of the technology function.
